Picture a Tuesday morning in Bethel Park. You have three back-to-back calls starting at nine, a toddler who kept you up until two, and the kind of background fatigue that a second cup of coffee will not fix. You booked a mobile IV session for eight-fifteen. At eight-fourteen, a Signature Vitality nurse pulls up to your driveway.

That’s the version of IV therapy most people in Pittsburgh don’t know exists. Whether you live in Mt Lebanon, Squirrel Hill, Wexford, Fox Chapel, North Hills, or downtown, mobile service means the drip comes to you: same registered nurse, same clinical supplies, same drips available at our South Hills studio.

Here is exactly what that visit looks like, from the knock at the door to the cleanup at the end.

What β€œmobile IV” actually means at Signature Vitality

Mobile IV is not a lesser version of an in-studio visit. The same registered nurses who work in our South Hills studio are the ones who come to your home, office, or hotel room. They bring a compact clinical kit that contains every supply needed for a sterile, safe IV administration, sealed and packed before they leave our facility.

You do not need a dedicated medical space. Nurses are trained to work in living rooms, home offices, hotel suites, and conference rooms. If you have a comfortable chair and a flat surface nearby, you have everything the setup requires. We have administered drips in Wexford kitchens, Fox Chapel home offices, and Mt Washington apartments with equal clinical confidence.

The drips themselves, from the full menu, are identical to what we run in-studio. You can choose from our standard menu, a wellness plan session, or an add-on like NAD+ or glutathione. Your nurse reviews your intake, confirms your drip choice, and sets up in your space.

What arrives: the clinical kit

The nurse arrives with a carry bag that contains everything needed for a self-contained IV session. Most clients are surprised by how compact and unremarkable it is. There is nothing alarming or hospital-like about it.

  • Sealed sterile IV supplies: tubing, drip bag, tape, gauze, gloves, all individually packaged and unopened
  • A portable IV stand: lightweight, folds flat, sets up in under two minutes, fits in any room
  • Pre-mixed nutrient solution: your chosen drip, prepared per clinical protocol at our facility
  • Intake and consent forms: completed digitally on a tablet before the nurse begins
  • A sharps disposal container: everything that goes in leaves with the nurse; nothing clinical stays in your home

What is not in the kit: anything that belongs in an emergency room. Mobile IV therapy at Signature Vitality is elective wellness support administered by a registered nurse. It is designed for comfortable, calm environments, not acute medical settings.

What the visit looks like, minute by minute

The whole visit is typically sixty to seventy-five minutes from arrival to departure. The drip itself runs thirty to forty-five minutes. Here is what that time looks like:

  1. Arrival and setup (~5 minutes). The nurse arrives, you show them a comfortable chair and a nearby surface. The IV stand goes up, the supply bag opens, gloves go on. It looks nothing like a hospital. It looks like someone setting up a workspace.
  2. Intake review (~5 minutes). Your nurse goes through a brief intake: how you are feeling, any recent medications or health changes, what you are hoping to address today. This happens every session, not just the first one. It is how your drip gets calibrated.
  3. Line placement (~2 minutes). A small IV catheter is placed, taped, and secured. Once it is in, you will not feel it. Most clients forget it is there within the first five minutes.
  4. The drip (~30 to 45 minutes). The bag runs at a controlled rate. You can work on your laptop, read, watch something, nap, or just sit quietly. Nurses check in periodically but do not hover. You do not need to hold still. Normal arm movement is fine.
  5. Removal and cleanup (~5 minutes). The line comes out, a bandage goes on, and the nurse breaks down the stand and packs everything. Within a few minutes of the drip finishing, the setup is gone and the room looks exactly as it did before they arrived.

No lingering equipment. No mess. The nurse books out, you get on with your day.

When mobile makes more sense than coming in

The studio is a calm, dedicated space designed for IV therapy, and many clients prefer it that way. But mobile service tends to be the better fit in certain situations:

  • New parents. Getting out of the house with a newborn for a forty-five-minute drip appointment is often unrealistic. Mobile brings the session to your living room while the baby sleeps.
  • Post-illness recovery. When you are recovering from a stomach bug, a respiratory illness, or a few hard days, driving to a studio may be more effort than you have. The nurse comes to you.
  • Executives between commitments. A session at your desk or in a private office means you stay productive. Many of our North Hills and downtown clients use mobile sessions as an efficient midday reset. The laptop stays open for the full drip.
  • Pre-event preparation. Wedding morning in Mt Washington, a charity gala in Fox Chapel, a business presentation. Mobile drips have become part of how clients in Pittsburgh prepare for high-stakes days.
  • Hangover or jetlag recovery. If you feel well enough to want help but not well enough to drive comfortably, mobile is the obvious answer. The nurse meets you where you are.

If you are on one of our wellness plans, every session in your plan is mobile-eligible. One note: the Vitality Booth is studio-only equipment, so plan members who use mobile delivery swap their included Booth sessions for extra IM booster credits. Your nurse will walk you through the substitution.

Cost: what mobile adds to the drip price

Honesty is the policy here. Mobile delivery adds a travel surcharge on top of your drip price. The surcharge varies by distance from our South Hills studio and is shown clearly at checkout before you confirm your booking.

The drip itself (its ingredients, its nurse time, its clinical quality) costs exactly what it costs in-studio. You are paying for the nurse to come to you, not for a different or inferior version of the service.

For clients on wellness plans, the plan price is the same whether you attend sessions in-studio or at home. The travel surcharge, if applicable, is billed per visit separately. Many plan members mix and match, some sessions in-studio and some at home, depending on the week.

If cost is a consideration, the most efficient approach is the wellness plan route, both for per-session savings and for the cumulative clinical benefits that sequenced sessions deliver over a one-off drip.
