A

Alpha Lipoic Acid

A fat- and water-soluble antioxidant that supports mitochondrial energy production and helps recycle other antioxidants (Vitamin C, glutathione). Appears in energy-focused drips.

Amino Acids

The building blocks the body uses to make proteins, neurotransmitters, and other essential molecules. IV amino acid blends are typically added for recovery, performance, and tissue repair support.

AminoMultiplex

A blended IV amino acid formulation used for muscle preservation and recovery support. Appears across athletic and GLP-1 wellness plans.

Arginine

A conditionally essential amino acid and precursor to nitric oxide, which the body uses for blood vessel dilation. Used in some performance-oriented IV protocols.

B

B-12 (Methylcobalamin)

An essential B-vitamin involved in nerve function, red blood cell formation, and methylation pathways. Methylcobalamin is the active form, used in IM injections and IV drips for energy and B-vitamin repletion.

Used in: Energy + Focus Drip, Energy & Burnout Plan, Gut & Digestive Support Plan

B-Complex

A blend of eight B-vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12) that support energy metabolism, nervous system function, and red blood cell formation. Foundational across most wellness drips.

BiOcean

A concentrated marine mineral solution sourced from the Atlantic off the coast of Brittany, France, containing approximately 78 trace minerals in naturally bioavailable ionic form. Based on the Quinton ocean-plasma protocol. Signature Vitality is the only Pittsburgh clinic offering it.

Biotin

A B-vitamin (B7) that supports hair, skin, and nail health through its role in keratin production. Available as an IM injection and within beauty-focused IV drips.

C

Carnitine (L-Carnitine)

An amino acid derivative that helps shuttle fatty acids into mitochondria where they're used for energy production. Used in energy and athletic recovery protocols.

Used in: Benton Drip, Athletic Recovery Plan, Perimenopause Wellness Plan

Collagen Support

A combination of nutrients (Vitamin C, Lysine, Proline, Zinc) that act as cofactors for the enzymes the body uses to build collagen. Used in skin- and tissue-focused drips and plans.

CoQ10 (Coenzyme Q10)

A fat-soluble compound essential to mitochondrial energy production and a meaningful intracellular antioxidant. Used in migraine, fertility, and post-viral recovery protocols.

E

Electrolytes

Charged minerals (sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, chloride) that the body uses for hydration, nerve signaling, and muscle function. Foundational to most IV hydration drips.

G

Glutamine

A conditionally essential amino acid. The most abundant free amino acid in the bloodstream and the preferred fuel source for intestinal cells. Used in gut-support and recovery protocols.

Glutathione

The body's master intracellular antioxidant. Recycles Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and CoQ10, supports hepatic phase II conjugation, and protects mitochondria. IV delivery bypasses the oral degradation that limits supplement absorption.

Glycine

A small amino acid involved in collagen production, neurotransmitter regulation, and supports normal elimination pathways in the liver. One of the three amino acids the body uses to build glutathione.

H

Halotherapy

Dry salt therapy: micronized salt particles dispersed in a controlled space, used for respiratory and skin support. Available as a Vitality Booth modality.

Used in: Vitality Booth, Allergy, Sinus & Respiratory Plan

High-Dose Vitamin C (HDVC)

Intravenous Vitamin C at gram-scale doses (10g, 25g, 50g): far beyond what oral supplementation can deliver. Used for immune support, post-illness recovery, and as a complementary therapy under coordination with your medical team. G6PD test required above 25g.

Hydration (IV Fluids / Normal Saline)

The sterile saline base used in IV therapy: typically 0.9% sodium chloride matched to blood plasma osmolarity. Provides rapid intravenous rehydration and serves as the carrier for nutrient additives.

I

IM (Intramuscular Injection)

A delivery route where a nutrient is injected directly into muscle tissue rather than a vein. Used for B-12, Tri-Immune, Vitamin D3, Lipo MIC, CoQ10, Biotin, and Niagen. Quick, no IV line required.

Used in: Niagen NR IM injection, GLP-1 Nutrient Support Plan

Inositol

A sugar-alcohol compound involved in insulin signaling, mood regulation, and ovarian function. Used in perimenopause and hormone-balance protocols.

Used in: Perimenopause Wellness Plan

L

Lipo MIC

A lipotropic IM injection containing methionine, inositol, choline, and B-vitamins. Used for metabolic support during weight loss; delivered as an intramuscular injection, never in the IV drip bag.

Used in: GLP-1 Nutrient Support Plan, Weight Management

Lysine

An essential amino acid: the body cannot make it on its own. Used as a cofactor in collagen synthesis and calcium absorption. Pairs with Vitamin C in skin- and tissue-support protocols.

Used in: Immune Defense Drip, Skin, Hair & Glow Plan, Calm, Sleep & Stress Plan

M

Magnesium

An essential mineral involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions: muscle function, nerve transmission, blood sugar regulation, sleep, and the migraine pathway. Chronically under-consumed in modern diets and often depleted by stress.

Used in: Calm + Restore Drip, Migraine Support Plan, The Signature Drip

Methylcobalamin

The active, methylated form of Vitamin B-12. Bypasses the methylation step the body otherwise has to perform. Preferred form in IM injections and IV drips for clients with MTHFR variants or methylation concerns.

Myers Cocktail

The foundational IV vitamin blend originally formulated by Dr. John Myers in the 1960s: typically B-complex, Vitamin C, Magnesium, and Calcium. The Signature Drip is the Signature Vitality version, refined for our clients.

N

NAC (N-Acetylcysteine)

A precursor to glutathione that supports antioxidant capacity and respiratory function (it thins mucus). Used in respiratory, post-viral, and hormone-balance protocols.

Used in: Allergy, Sinus & Respiratory Plan, Post-Viral Recovery Plan, Perimenopause Wellness Plan

NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide)

A coenzyme present in every cell that shuttles electrons in the mitochondrial energy chain, activates sirtuins (longevity-associated enzymes), and powers PARP for DNA repair. Levels decline with age. IV NAD+ produces a measurable intracellular elevation within hours.

Niagen (Nicotinamide Riboside / NR)

A patented form of nicotinamide riboside, an NAD+ precursor. Delivered as an IM injection rather than an IV infusion: a faster, lower-friction NAD+ option for clients who don't need a full infusion.

Used in: Niagen NR IM Injection

Normal Saline

Sterile 0.9% sodium chloride: the standard IV fluid base matched to blood plasma osmolarity. Used as the carrier for nutrient additives and for rapid intravenous rehydration.

Used in: Hydrate Drip

O

Ornithine

A non-essential amino acid that supports the urea cycle and ammonia clearance after high-protein metabolism. Sometimes paired with arginine in athletic-recovery blends.

Used in: Athletic Recovery Drip, Amino Acids in IV Drips guide

P

Proline

A non-essential amino acid that, alongside lysine and Vitamin C, serves as a structural building block for collagen. Used in skin- and tissue-support protocols.

Used in: Skin, Hair & Glow Plan

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

A concentrate prepared from a small sample of the client's own blood, isolating platelets and their growth factors. Used in microneedling for collagen induction and skin rejuvenation.

R

Red Light Therapy

A photobiomodulation modality using red and near-infrared wavelengths to support collagen production, mitochondrial function, and skin recovery. Available as a Vitality Booth modality.

S

Sauna (Infrared)

A heat-therapy modality using infrared light to warm the body directly rather than the surrounding air. Used for lymphatic support, recovery, and relaxation. Available as a Vitality Booth modality.

T

Taurine

A conditionally essential amino acid found in heart muscle, the brain, retina, and platelets. Involved in bile acid metabolism, cellular ion regulation, and antioxidant pathways. Used in calm/sleep and athletic recovery drips.

Toradol (Ketorolac)

A prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory used for short-term pain and headache relief. Included in the Bounce Back hangover recovery drip under nurse supervision.

Trace Minerals

Minerals required by the body in small but essential amounts: selenium, manganese, copper, zinc, chromium, molybdenum, and others. Modern soil depletion makes them harder to get from food alone.

Tri-Immune

An IM injection blend combining Vitamin C, Zinc, and Glutathione for concentrated immune support. Used as a between-visit add-on in immune-focused wellness plans.

V

Vital Booster

An IM injection blend used as a between-visit nutrient boost: typically B-vitamins and supportive cofactors. Included in many wellness plan packages.

Used in: Wellness Plans, Foundational Wellness Plan

Vitality Booth

A multi-modality recovery booth offering infrared sauna, red light therapy, halotherapy (salt), and chromotherapy. Included as session credits across most wellness plans.

Vitamin C (Ascorbate)

An essential water-soluble vitamin and antioxidant required for collagen synthesis, immune function, iron absorption, and recycling other antioxidants. Standard wellness drips include 500 mg; High-Dose Vitamin C is a separate gram-scale infusion.

Used in: High-Dose Vitamin C, The Signature Drip, Immune Defense Drip

Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol)

The active supplement form of Vitamin D: essential for calcium absorption, immune function, mood regulation, and bone health. Commonly low in northern climates; delivered as an IM injection in most wellness plans.

Z

Zinc

An essential trace mineral involved in immune function, wound healing, protein synthesis, and over 300 enzymatic reactions. Commonly added to immune and skin-support drips.

Zofran (Ondansetron)

A prescription anti-nausea medication used for short-term relief of nausea and vomiting. Included in the Bounce Back hangover recovery drip under nurse supervision.
